Creating an event in Salesforce
Training Objectives/Goals
At the end of this session, you will be able to create an event in Salesforce.
What is a Salesforce Event?
Salesforce is a powerful project management tool, so make the most of it! As a client-facing professional, creating events is a great way to stay organized and keep your calendar on track. Pair it with your Google Calendar, and you’ll be set up for success! 🚀
Creating an event in Salesforce
Staying organized is easy with Salesforce! Follow these simple steps to create an event:
- Go to your Home tab and click New Event.
- Select “General” as the Event Record Type.
- Fill out the required fields with event details.
- Click Save—and you’re all set!
Pro Tips!
✅ Link your project to the event – This saves time by keeping related projects easily accessible.
✅ Always add your managers as invitees when meeting with a client – this is mandatory!
Why?
- Prevents double booking – When we schedule design meetings, we can see your availability.
- Ensures coverage – If you’re out, your manager can step in for you.
📌 How to Add Invitees:
- Click Select Invitees (near the bottom of the page).
- Filter to “Users” and select the appropriate people.
- Follow the steps to complete the process.
If done correctly, the event will automatically appear in your invitees’ Salesforce calendars. Simple and efficient! ✅📅

When scheduling a client call, make sure to create an event for it in Salesforce as soon as you have the details. This way, you won’t forget to do so. Note: Do not invite clients via Salesforce. They do not have access.

Got weekly meetings with a client? Make sure to create a recurring event for it!
-
Got a scheduled vacation leave? Make sure you create an event for this and add your managers. This way, we know you are on leave. And yes, this is mandatory.
