Agent Image
Commercial and Paid Fonts/Stock Images/Videos
Training Objectives/Goals
By the end of this session, you’ll have a better understanding on how to handle clients wanting commercial fonts and stock images and videos.
Why Google Fonts?
Our production team by default uses Google Fonts .
Benefits:
- All Google Fonts are open source
- Free to download
- Free to use in both personal and commercial projects
- Over a thousand fonts to choose from
Paid Fonts
Clients may prefer to use a paid/commercial font to create a distinct branding. Or it could be because it’s already what they use for their marketing materials. Whatever the reason is, it is important to let clients know that while we can use paid fonts, they’ll need to provide the licensed files.
If it’s an Adobe font, ask your client to create a web project and provide you with the link. Read more here: https://helpx.adobe.com/fonts/using/add-fonts-website.html
Pro Tips:
You may want to install this developer tool, which is an easy way to identify the fonts used on a website https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/whatfont/jabopobgcpjmedljpbcaablpmlmfcogm?hl=en
Stock Images
Clients, not Agent Image, are responsible for the photos to use on their sites. We may temporarily use stock images while waiting for the clients to provide the actual assets to use.
It is important to let clients know that we have limited selection and may not be able to use images specific to their areas. If a client would like to choose specific own images from istock.com, please limit to 10 only. We also cannot use photos marked for Editorial Use only. Example here .
Since we handle VIP clients, it is important to thoughtfully try and use related images. ie if your client is in Florida, do not use mountain or winter photos, if they are in an urban area, then do not use rural images etc. etc.

Videos
Agent Image doesn’t provide free videos to clients, even for VIP clients. It is the client’s responsibility to provide them.
Pro Tips:
-
Keep the videos to 20-30 seconds or less so as not to compromise the loading time of the site.
-
Inform the client that you will send them the video guidelines after the call. (We have an email template for this in the VIP PM/DS folder).
-
Video Length: 20-seconds is the prescribed total video length, to conserve loading time.
-
Aspect Ratio: Any aspect ratio is acceptable, but to fill the display area, the video may be center-cropped at times depending on the user’s screen resolution. The subject of the video should be placed at the center of the video (e.g. faces, figures) and text(s) on the video should be avoided, if possible.
-
File Format: Any common file format is acceptable but mp4, avi, wmv are preferred.
-
File Size: The total file size of all submitted video content must not exceed 50MB.
-
Video Quality: Please ensure to compress your video’s content upon submission. Take note that the quality of the video may suffer and deviate from the original copy if the video is sent uncompressed. File compression is a necessary step to conserve loading time. Note that a higher bit-rate may also be observed when video content has a bright color display.
-
Mobile Device Limitations: Auto-playing video content on mobile devices is discouraged because browsers have different conditions for auto-playing. The actual video may be removed or replaced (e.g. static image, another widget in its place).
-
Audio Limitations: Video with included audio is only supported for a single video clip content. We do not support multiple video clips to avoid staggered audio playback.
-
Continuous Play vs. Video Stitching: It is preferred that video content is already stitched into 1 continuous video clip, ready-to-play, without the need for further editing. This ensures that video content is displayed exactly to your preference. If this is unavoidable, please send us not more than 6 total video clips for stitching, which will be played one after another, for optimal/ideal loading. The extent of video editing from Agent Image is limited to video cropping (start/stop) within your guidelines.
Scenario: Client is claiming that their salesperson says we will provide video
“I am so sorry you were misinformed. May I suggest the following options instead?”
Option 1: If you have any property videos (6 videos or less is ideal), send them over and we will do a video stitching for you at no extra cost. Please note that the extent of video editing on our end is video cropping (start/stop).
Option 2: Another option is to combine stock video sites with some of your property/local photos. This will be ideal to give your site visitors an overview of your focus areas.
If the client won’t budge: “I am so sorry about the miscommunication. I will sort this out asap and will get back to you with a resolution within the day. In the meantime, would you like to proceed with the design meeting?”
- If the client agrees, proceed as usual and inform your manager and sales immediately after the call.
- If the client declines, inform your manager immediately after the call.
